All kitten and cat buyers are required to sign a sales contract. Please review the main terms of this contract:
PAYMENTThe first payment for the kitten of $700 is to be made via e-transfer. The remaining balance is payable in cash only at the time of pickup. Other forms of payment are not accepted. This payment will be confirmed in a Kitten Transfer Acceptance Form signed by both parties at pickup, serving as official proof that the full amount has been received.
The only exception is when shipping a kitten by air cargo.
“AS IS” SALEThe kitten is sold “AS IS”. At the time of transfer, the kitten will be accompanied by a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian no more than 10 days prior to the transfer of the kitten to the buyer. Seller excludes all implied warranties under the Sale of Goods Act (Alberta), including merchantable quality and fitness for a particular purpose.
72-HOUR RETURN WINDOW (EXCLUSIVE REMEDY) Buyer’s only options if any issue is found:
- Return the kitten within 72 hours of transfer for full refund, or
- Replacement with another kitten of equal value (Seller’s choice).
The delivery of the Kitten is managed and paid by Buyer. After 72 hours, all claims are permanently waived.
ASSUMPTION OF ALL RISKSAt the time of sale, the kitten has been examined by a licensed veterinarian and is believed to be healthy. Upon transfer to the Buyer, the Seller is no longer responsible for any medical conditions that may arise, including genetic, congenital, developmental, or infectious issues. All future veterinary care and associated costs are the sole responsibility of the Buyer.
SPAYING AND NEUTERINGAll male kittens are castrated by the breeder prior to transfer to the new owner. Female kittens are transferred unspayed and must be spayed by the new owner no later than 9 months of age.
Early spaying of females before moving to the new home is not performed, as the majority of veterinary clinics in Calgary do not perform such surgeries on cats before 6 months of age due to anesthesia safety considerations and the physiological development of females.HEALTH AFTER TRANSFERThe Buyer is responsible for 100% of veterinary expenses after the 72 hours of transfer window. Routine wellness exams, vaccinations, elective tests, or optional health checks performed at any time are the Buyer’s responsibility and are not reimbursed by the Seller.
The Seller is responsible only in the rare case where a congenital or pre-existing condition — confirmed in writing by a licensed veterinarian — is diagnosed during the 72-hour period.
TRIAL PET INSURANCEEach kitten also comes with a complimentary 6-week trial insurance policy through
Petsecure.
